National Honor Society

You excel. You serve. You lead. You succeed. You have a true thirst for challenge … and accomplishment. Membership in National Honor Society (NHS) may be an ideal fit for you! You can become a member through a local selection process that concludes with induction into the NOVA Academy Early College High School’s National Honor Society chapter. Through exclusive resources, programs, and services, members have a unique opportunity to prepare for college and career pursuits. Membership truly lays the groundwork for lifelong success.

NOVA Academy’s qualifications for membership are based on the four pillars of NHS: Leadership, Scholarship, Character, and Service.

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • No discipline issues
  • Open to students in grades 10-12 only
  • Student must be active in at least one extracurricular activity per school year
  • Student must have some leadership experience
  • Student must have 20 hours of community service per school year
  • Student must achieve excellence in the areas of leadership, scholarship, character, and service.

Since 1916, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) is the preeminent organization of and national voice for  principals, assistant principals, and aspiring school leaders from across the United States and more than 35 countries around the world. The mission of NASSP is to promote excellence in middle level and high school leadership. NASSP also promotes the intellectual growth, academic achievement, character and leadership development, and physical well-being of youth. NASSP is proud to have founded and to administer the National Honor SocietyTM (NHS), the National Junior Honor SocietyTM (NJHS), the National Elementary Honor SocietyTM (NEHS),  and National Student CouncilTM (NatStuCo).
